In what can only be described as some of the best news we’ve heard today: MOMA PS 1, one of our favorite spots in Long Island City, is bringing an arts festival to Fort Tilden this summer and everyone’s invited.
According to Gothamist, on June 29, the museum will bring an all-out fest featuring “arts and crafts, film screenings, kayaking, baseball games, and more” to the Sandy-ravaged beach, which finally reopened a few weeks ago. Following the all-day festival, attendees are invited to enjoy a free concert from one of New York City’s favorite daughters, Patti Smith and then head to the Rockaway Beach Surf Club (which boasts a delicious Southern-influenced menu) for an after party.
Those are all the details we have for now, but feel free to follow PS 1 director Klaus Biesenbach on Instagram. Apparently, he’s dropping all kinds of hints about the big party on the social media platform.
