Ample Hills “Ice Cream Paradise” Opening July 15
It seems like only yesterday that we were heard the folks behind Ample Hills Creamery would be opening a so-called “ice cream paradise” in Gowanus. But now, that distant fantasy is becoming a wonderful reality: On Tuesday, July 15, the Ample Hills mega-creamery is officially opening to the public.
Back in January, we shared the news that the Prospect Heights dessert spot was opening a new outpost at 305 Nevins Street at Union Street. Originally, the new place was supposed to open up in May, but even the best laid plans–yada yada yada.
So, here we are in July, and the definite opening date is the 15th of this month. According to Eater, patrons will be invited to pick from 24 flavors (up from 16) and enjoy a roof deck, a party space and a great view of Ample Hills’ on-site ice cream factory. What’s more, we’re sure the new Ample Hills book, Ample Hills Creamery: Secrets and Stories from Brooklyn’s Favorite Ice Cream Shop, will also be available for visiting D.I.Y.ers.
And if you’re feeling really adventurous, may we suggest dropping by the new Ample Hills for a pint and then heading over to the forthcoming 3000-square-foot Four & Twenty Blackbirds pie shop (also due to open this summer) and combining the two desserts? Or is that too crazy?
The new Ample Hills Creamery, open July 15, is at 305 Nevins Street.
