More Details On The 2000-Capacity Music Venue Coming To East Williamsburg

Way, way back in the frigid month of January, we came across the news that everyone’s favorite music venue chain, The Bowery Presents, would soon grace a corner of East Williamsburg with a massive, 2000-capacity venue called the Brooklyn Classic.
Now, we’ve got a few more details about the project.
The updates come via The Brooklyn Paper, which reports that the new venue, located at 319 Frost Street near Morgan Avenue inside a former steel fabricator factory, will be laid out similarly to the Music Hall of Williamsburg, featuring a standing area ringed by a balcony with small bars sprinkled throughout the building. Additionally, there will be an enclosed outdoor area for the smokers among us.
The buildout should be complete later this year, but already the higher ups at Bowery Presents have appeared before the tough crowd that is Community Board 1. There’s still no word on whether their liquor license will be approved (they still have to go through the State Liquor Authority), but since the somewhat isolated area is dominated by warehouses and few residential buildings, it’s unlikely they’ll have a problem.
