There Was A Massive Dumpster Fire At The McKibbin Lofts Last Night

Today in not-surprised-at-all, we can add another frightening/fascinating chapter to the truly epic saga that is the McKibbin Lofts.
According to Bushwick Daily, there was an insane fire in a dumpster outside McKibbin Lofts around midnight. The dumpster, which was only separated from the building by a heroic sidewalk, could easily have sparked a disastrous fire, but luckily the folks at the FDNY came in time–though not before bystanders could shoot some video for posterity.
The guy who shot the first video suspects gasoline was involved because “it went up so fast” and was able to tape the FDNY hard at work. The second video is much shorter, but offers a different perspective.

As someone who woke up to find a car aflame outside her bedroom window two weeks after moving to Brooklyn, I understand that these things happen and we’re glad no one was hurt and yada yada yada. Just be safe, you guys!
