Weekend Guide: Brooklyn Pride Multicultural Fest, the Joy of Play, Tipsy for R&B, and More
The second weekend of June comes complete with Pride events, early Juneteenth celebrations, and the New York Philharmonic at Prospect Park
The big NYC Pride March may still be a few weeks away, but you can get your fix this weekend with the Brooklyn version. And you know we have to do things a little differently around here, so we’ve got a festival during the day and a parade at twilight.
In addition to Pride, there’s a whole lot going on. Watch parties for the World Cup, more seafood than you can shake a stick (or fishing pole) at, festivals and balls, and even, after all that, some quiet time to write. Check it all out in the latest Weekend Guide.

Thursday, June 11
OkayAfrica x Elsewhere | South Africa vs Mexico Watch Party + Afters @ Elsewhere

You know you’ll be watching this game somewhere. So why not do it at this OkayAfrica-sponsored event, with a built-in afterparty? The Botswana-born DJ Tab iill will be behind the decks.
“A Little Vengeance” Listening Party! Jessie Reyez Fan Event @ 352 Troutman St.
7 p.m.
Get a chance to listen to Reyez’s new album before its release. While Jessie will not be there in person, you’ll have a chance to experience the LP before all your friends, take photos, and go home with some album-themed merch.
FUTURE FORMS V2: Physical Therapy, x3butterfly, EREZ, Tanguay @ Refuge NYC
10 p.m.
This sure-to-be-incredible two-part event promises to be “part performance, part ritual, part club rave experience.” It combines contemporary dance and electronic music. The first part of the night will have live original music by EREZ paired with choreography by Tanguay, performed by a whole cast of dancers. After that, the night turns into a full-on rave.

Friday, June 12
Brooklyn Crab’s 2026 Crab Boil @ Brooklyn Crab
6 p.m.
One ticket price gets you a three-hour open bar of beer and margaritas. But more importantly, it gets you all the crab, shrimp, and crawfish you can handle. If you’re in the mood for something resembling Carousel’s real nice clambake, but with fewer robberies-gone-wrong, you know where to go.
The Writer’s Evening @ Nook
6 p.m.
Have an idea for the Great American Novel, but just need an extra push to get started? This event’s got your back. A bunch of people gather to write for an hour, with (optional) sharing afterwards.
The Liberation Concert: A Pre-Juneteenth Celebration @ BRIC
7:30 p.m.
Gear up for Juneteenth with Kinetic’s Liberation Concert. Live music and spoken word will be performed, and make sure to get there early for the mixer.
New York Philharmonic Concert in the Park @ Long Meadow Ball Fields, Prospect Park
8 p.m.
The NY Phil comes to you for once, so you can hear beautiful music without having to go over the river. The program includes Saint-Saëns’s Cello Concerto No. 1, as well as music by Copland and Ravel. And everything wraps up with a fireworks display.

Saturday, June 13

Tipsy for R&B: A Coloring + Cocktail Experience @ Hart Bar
6 p.m.
This is exactly what it sounds like: listen to some R&B, engage in some themed coloring, and even take part in R&B bingo. No prior art experience is needed—just the desire to groove and enjoy yourself.
Annual Twilight Brooklyn Pride Parade @ Fifth Avenue from Lincoln Place to Eighth Street
7:30 p.m.
What’s the only thing better than a Pride Parade? A Pride Parade at twilight, of course! Make sure to show up early to scope out your spot.
