Visit La Selva’s Summer Pop-Up at Antoinette Vintage This Weekend
In case you’re not one of the fortunate few (or, we guess, fortunate many… have you seen your friends’ Instagrams lately? they’re all vacationing somewhere fabulous) who isn’t going away this weekend, we’ve got somewhere fun for you to go and pretend that you’re somewhere far away and exotic, if only for a couple hours. Somewhere like Guatemala maybe?
Well, you might not exactly feel like you’re visiting Central America when you stop by beloved Williamsburg vintage shop, Antoinette, but you will have the opportunity to shop for beautiful clothes—many made from authentic Guatemalan textiles—and exquisite Mayan jewelry, hand-selected in remote Guatemalan villages by designer Celina Paiz of La Selva. Paiz is staging this summer pop-up as a celebration of her new collection, as well as her collaboration with longtime friend and artist Rebeca Raney.
The pop-up will be held this Saturday and Sunday, from noon to seven and patrons can enjoy a glass of wine as well as a 10% discount on all La Selva clothing. (Plus, every purchase comes with a complimentary gift.) And, as an added bonus, Paiz will be on hand at the event and (as we know from personal experience) is a delight to speak with about everything from the origin of the vibrant textiles with which she works to her love of the Wim Wenders film, Paris, Texas. So head on over to Antoinette this weekend. We know we will be doing just that.
Where: Antoinette, 119 Grand Street, Williamsburg
When: Saturday & Sunday, 8/2-3; 12-7
