Welcome to Tula House
Picture this: A plant shop haven called Tula House, nestled in the heart of Greenpoint, Brooklyn built within a 100 year old warehouse. Walking through the doors you are immersed into a lush, tropical scene before you venture into The Arid Room, full of unique and rare desert plants from all over the world.
The tale of Tula House kicks off in April 2016, emerging from the cocoon of a 2nd floor showroom and the quirky plant truck, “Tulita.” Fast forward to November 2018—the grand opening of the Greenpoint retail store full of healthy, unique plants for all spaces, tools and accessories for at home gardening and plant care services.

Looking for a bit of plant care guidance or advice? The expert team at Tula House is ready to help find your perfect plant match as well as offer additional services such as plant repotting, pest treatments and general care. Their commitment to education and customer service is top priority as is their eye for diverse and exceptional plants.
The brains behind this green wonderland are husband and wife team, Christan Summers and Ivan Martinez. Christan, driven by a craving for creative freedom and a hands-on approach, brought to life the concept of Tula House. Growing up on her mother’s farm, she turned her love for plants into a mission for modern botanical education. Ivan, with his diverse background and passion for design and construction, brought his skills to the Tula House table. The engineering legacy from Ivan’s Cuban roots became the backbone for the physical and digital sides of this urban haven. Together, Christan and Ivan embody the spirit of Tula House—genuine expressions of creativity, design, and education that resonate with their patrons.

Their collective wisdom, spanning over two decades in design and retail, goes beyond the walls of Tula House. Summers puts it plainly, “Our commitment shines through in the carefully curated plants and products, the immersive retail experience, and the enchanting indoor/outdoor gardens that can transform your home and commercial spaces.”
Beyond the Tula House store, there’s Tula Gardens—a commercial and residential plantscaping service that’s brought botanical life to companies like Le Labo, Hotel Chelsea, Cash App, and many more. Their team of horticulturists and designers will transform any space into a tropical paradise or arid retreat, offering practical solutions for indoor and outdoor plant integration.

Since 2016, Tula House has been crafting botanical experiences for all kinds of spaces. Summers highlights, “Our outdoor and interior landscaping services cater to a diverse clientele in the retail, commercial, hospitality, real estate, and technology industries.”
Stepping into Tula House isn’t just about shopping; it’s about education, discovery and experience—a narrative woven with passion, creativity, and a deep connection to the natural world.
