Roberta’s levels up the Neapolitan pie
Name one food that’s more perfect than pizza. We can wait.
When bubbly-yet-crisp crusty dough meets the perfect melange of sauce, cheese, and other special fixings like soppressata and hot honey, you’ve got a Roberta’s pizza. The iconic restaurant’s most popular pie is the sweet-meets-spicy Bee Sting—and it’s not even listed on the menu. The Bee Sting pie is so well-loved that Roberta’s doesn’t need to publicize it.
And we get it, we really do—the soppressata levels up the slice with a little salt, red pepper and pork. Add some dollops of hot honey with a fine, melty cheese and, whew boy, it puts a new spin on pizza night. But, there’s much more to discover (and taste) at this now iconic spot.
Roberta’s has been long hailed as the “pizzeria with a cult following” and the originators of the new Neapolitan pie movement. Roberta’s founders Carlos Mirarchi and Brandon Hoy have been slinging delicious their pies since 2008 (we’re partial to the Cheezus Christ), and they’ve been known to host long wait times on weeknights and weekends. Which makes it a perfect contender for delivery. And it travels so well right to your doorstep. (Real-cook perk alert: With Grubhub, you can get a fresh Roberta’s pizza delivered on time and at the lowest price, guaranteed or they’ll make it right.)
Next time you get the hankering for pizza or you’re looking for a new spot for that Friday night order, try out Roberta’s. Maybe start your night off with The Beastmaster (or go after that Bee Sting that has everyone’s tongues wagging). Don’t forget greens and a dessert: the Little Gem Salad is a big hit (you heard it from us), and top off your order with the sumptuous Banana Pudding (alert: the bananas are roasted and they are delicious).
