Looklyn: Stacey Dash meets Rihanna
In this installment of our street style series, we meet Nissa, who is serving some 'Clueless' realness
Street style isn’t necessarily the same thing as “fashion.” It’s … more personal. It’s rooted in self, an outward expression of attitude, vibe, swag, panache, aspiration, time and place. In this semi-regular series called Looklyn, we hold a mirror up to the borough to show us how we dress now … and what it tells us about who we are.
Here, photographer Johnny Cirillo introduces us to Nissa, who exudes comfort and confidence.
Name: Nissa Montour
How you identify: she/her
Occupation: Personal trainer/fitness influencer & studio owner/actress
Where are you heading?: To have a drink alone.
Fashion inspo: Rihanna, Nina Simone, Diana Ross, Stacey Dash in “Clueless.”
About the fit: I almost missed my Uber and threw this on. I feel super confident in this and I love a high boot and a skirt. I cut this crop top myself and I get super cold so I have this sweater in case I get on the train or go into a cold building. Comfort and confidence at their best.
About me: I’m a passionate person who strives to serve others with my talents. I’m working on my confidence and just truly being the best version of myself while in here on this earth, in this time in this dimension.
Thoughts on life: I have so much gratitude for this life and the lessons that come with this experience. I feel like we’re here to fulfill our own unique destiny and master ourselves. I take nothing for granted.
