6 plant stores to check out ASAP now that it’s Spring

Now is the time to get to work on your indoor and outdoor gardens

We couldn’t agree more! To help you get there, we’ve compiled a by-no-means-comprehensive list of some of our favorite nurseries and plant stores in Brooklyn.

Ironically located in Red Hook and Williamsburg. Unironically great plants.

They have a great selection of some rare species. They also carry some unique vessels for your leafy friends and if you’re lucky, you may catch a glimpse of their mascots: Finlay the African grey parrot and Franklin the pig.

They offer a wide array of classic indoor and outdoor plants to get you started. The last time I was there, they were carrying fishbone cactus (cryptocereus anthonyanus). One of my favorite varieties!

Gorgeous open air garden center selling indoor and outdoor beauties. It’s closed for now but promises to reopen this spring.

They sell clippings for $2 so you can diversify your collection. Be advised that the clippings for sale are whatever they have on hand. Those entering the store with scissors will be promptly defenestrated.
