Beyoncé Dropped Another Surprise Album
Beyoncé has been teasing some sort of surprise since last week centered around the word Lemonade. Especially after “Formation,” it seemed that a new record was looming, and tonight’s HBO Go premiere revealed the surprise was just that–another full-length visual album. It’s her follow-up to 2013’s self-titled visual album. If you are an HBO Go subscriber, you can watch it here, although the website says it is a one day only event. You might as well, it’s all your internet will be talking about for the next week or so. The record is about heartbreak and deception, so it will surely fuel the rumors about infidelity in Beyoncé and Jay Z’s marriage. Although, it’s just as likely that it does that on purpose, and they’re doing fine. Who knows! Either way, the music is great. The guests this time are sparse, and include The Weeknd, James Blake, Jack White, and Kendrick Lamar. Interspersed between the album’s tracks, Beyoncé speaks poetry that was drawn from the writings of Somali-British poet Warsan Shire. The tracklist and album cover are below, and Genius has all the lyrics already. You can also get the album on Tidal. If this doesn’t make Tidal happen, then surely nothing will.
