Bishop is the newest singer-songwriter to break down barriers between indie and mainstream pop music. Bishop was born in London, is of both Irish and Scottish descent and grew up in Hong Kong and Tokyo. She’s all over the place, in the best way possible. Her diverse background truly reflects how her music cannot be categorized by one genre. Just days after graduating high school, she decided to take her talents to LA and has been steadily working with producers Mark Jackson and Ian Brendan Scott. “River” is her second single; an explosive track with the potential to be a massive radio hit. It will leave you feeling empowered with surging bass and skyward vocals. Released a few weeks ago via her Soundcloud, the edgy synthpop anthem follows up her more acoustic, but commercially successful debut “Wild Horses.” BISHOP may be new to the game, but she is clearly unintimidated by it — she has already attracted an enormous following for someone who has released just two songs. “River” is the precursor to her debut EP, which is coming soon.
