Inside the Designer’s Studio: Visiting the Workspaces of Four Brooklyn Designers

We’ll just come right out and say it: We don’t believe there’s any such thing as a “Brooklyn” aesthetic, no specific look that exists only in this borough. Good design has become a global phenomenon and, frankly, that’s one of the most exciting things about it these days. But, of course, our local design scene here is busy doing some truly cutting-edge things these days, focusing on sustainably sourced materials and rejecting mass-production in favor of concentrating on smaller-scale but more fully realized products. The results, to say the least, are exciting. And so while, no, there might not be a single “Brooklyn look,” the larger Brooklyn design ethos is one we can stand behind. Here are four local design studios which embody that sensibility and are responsible for some of the most beautifully designed furniture out there today.
