Smorgasburg is Relocating to Sunset Park’s Industry City
In preparation for fast-approaching autumn and winter, the Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg will be relocating to the warmer, indoor climes of Sunset Park megacomplex Industry City.
Starting the weekend of October 17th and 18th, 100 Flea vendors and 40 Smorgasburg vendors will set up shop in the 50,000-square-foot space of Industry City’s second floor. (The names of the vendors will be announced in about a month.) They’re abandoning last year’s locations, Crown Heights’ Berg’n Beer Hall and a Williamsburg warehouse.
The six million-square-foot production and workspace Industry City is already a house of many mansions: It provides office space for more than 400 businesses, including creative startups like e-commerce jewelry site Baublebar and 3D printer company Doob. And there’s already a fully functioning food hall, as well as a Li-Lac Chocolates factory and shop and a Liddabit Sweets retail space. So if Smorgasburg’s overwhelming selection of food vendors don’t satisfy your cravings, Industry City has plenty more to offer.
