Prospect Heights Restaurant 606 R&D Is Closing

It’s been a rough winter for Brooklyn restaurants. First Marco’s, the place run by the owners of Franny’s and BKLYN Larder, closed its doors due to financial concerns. Then Prospect Heights Mexican restaurant Pequena closed its doors, and Franklin Avenue’s Pacifico’s Fine Foods announced that it was closing after just eight months. Now, another neighborhood favorite is biting the dust: The owners of 606 R&D, citing poor turnout in the recent cold weather, are closing the eatery down.
Owners Sara Dima and Ilene Rosen broke the news through a note on their website. “A number of factors contributed to this decision,” they wrote, “amongst them lack of business during the frigid nights of the past few months and our desire to focus on R&D Foods, our shop next door, which will remain open.”
The restaurant will serve its last meal on Sunday, March 15. Catch their Sunday supper while you still can.
