Bjork Has a New Album, Cover Art Features What Looks Like a Vagina Jumpsuit

Bjoooorrrrk
Björk announced via Facebook today that her new album, Vulnicura, which was previously announced as not being available before March, would actually be rolling out on iTunes over the next 24 hours. And, because Björk just continues to be the best in just about every possible way, the cover art for her new album features the inimitable Icelandic artist in a jumpsuit with a wound-that-looks-like-a-vagina on the chest. Yes! Yessss! Perfection. Talk about knowing how to break the Internet.
Beyond the chest-wound-vagina, Björk is also wearing a crown and cloak of dandelion fuzz, and released this statement about the album:
i wanted to tell you the tale of making of this album
i guess i found in my lap one year into writing it a complete heartbreak album . kinda surprised how thoroughly i had documented this in pretty much accurate emotional chronology …. like 3 songs before a break up and three after . so the anthropologist in me sneaked in and i decided to share them as such . first i was worried it would be too self indulgent but then i felt it might make it even more universal . and hopefully the songs could be a help , a crutch to others and prove how biological this process is : the wound and the healing of the wound . psychologically and physically . it has a stubborn clock attached to it .
there is a way out
Excited yet? I am! I want to go through the process of healing wounds with Björk. Don’t you? Of course you do; you’re only human! Unlike Björk, who is a beautiful alien in a dandelion-crown. And, for those of you who are ultra-inspired by just this image, know that you can see Björk in person right here in New York in March (dates below), PLUS: MOMA will be staging a Björk retrospective starting in March that is bound to be incredible. We’re calling it here first: 2015 is the Year of Björk. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
