Live at Brooklyn Magazine: Mitski Performs “Townie” and Others
It feels like we’ve written about Mitski every day for about a month now, and while it’s not technically true that we have, well, it would have been completely justified: She’s as exciting a local songwriter as there is at the moment, and she’s responsible for one of our very favorite records of 2014, the beautiful and hugely affecting Bury Me at Makeout Creek. She stopped by our office to play a few songs and talk a bit about, among other things, what it’s like being an artist in Brooklyn. She also wore her mic to the bathroom, but we promise, no one heard nothin’.
