A Show and a Cocktail: Sally Can’t Dance + All This And More
There are few pleasures in the known world like a really, really great live show. The perfect song, delivered in the perfect setting, while you rock-and-forth, elbow-to-elbow, with a room full of happy strangers. The only thing that could make it better? Matching it with the perfect drink. Our picks for this weekend’s best show and drink pairing, after the jump.
The Show: Sally Can’t Dance @ Bowery Electric, 9/17
The Drink: All This And More
We cheated a little bit this week, but we hope you forgive us — because Sally Can’t Dance might not be a band, but it just might be the best dang dang party you’ve ever been to in your life. A last ditch effort to throw New York City’s last, genuine rock-and-roll party, Sally Can’t Dance is hosted by a slew of old school NYC culture freaks like Jesse Malin, Sophia Lamar, and Howie Pyro. Veteran NYC DJ Jonathon Toubin will be spinning records tonight, so expect a lot of very danceable, dusty singles from the 50s and 60s. With that much going on, we can’t imagine a more perfect cocktail to kick things off than Bowery Electric’s All This And More, a potent blend of spiced bourbon, citrus bitters, and blood orange. Just the right amount of oomph to get you going on the dance floor.
