Brooklyn Tech Teacher Arrested For Sending Nude Pic To Student

With the official start of the school year exactly one week away, Fort Greene’s Brooklyn Tech could not have gotten worse news today: A teacher at the school has been arrested and arraigned for sending a full frontal nude picture of himself to a 16-year-old student over the summer.
Via the Daily News: 44-year-old Sean Shaynak was arrested today following an allegation and a damning photo that shows the math and physics teacher exposing himself to a 16-year-old female student.
Apparently, the photo was shared via the all-too-popular Snapchat app, which deletes user photos after 10 seconds, but the student who received the photo was quick to take a screenshot of the image and show it to an adult when it was sent to her on June 27. The case’s prosecutor says that the female student was friendly with Shaynack, smoking weed and cigarettes with him, which sounds to us more than a little bit like the “no angel” description of Mike Brown.
Shaynack, a five-year veteran of Brooklyn Tech, was arraigned and held on $100,000 bond or $25,000 bail today. There’s no word yet on when he’ll go to trial, but he certainly won’t be returning for school next week.
