Tomorrow: Sign-Up Party For Greenpoint Open Studios
Last month, we learned that after a three-year hiatus (how “Brooklyn Loves MJ” of them), Greenpoint Open Studios will return, introducing a new class of aspiring and established artists to locals and non-locals alike. The festival will run from October 3-5, but for those who want to sign up, registration is scheduled for tomorrow.
Revival efforts are being led by Jen Galatioto, founder of hyperlocal blog, Greenpointers, who sought to make GOS fully independent after a few years where the festival was an arm of our own Northside Festival. This year, GOS will stand on its own two feet and artists working in every kind of medium (photography, video, installation, sculpture, printmaking, painting, drawing, etc.) are encouraged to apply.
Just head over to The Diamond Bar (43 Franklin Street) tomorrow, August 15, from 7 pm to 10 pm to sign-up. All signees will get a free beer to imbibe while enjoying music and art. Or if socializing isn’t really your thing, then you can always sign up online. But what’s the fun in doing that?
For more information, check out the Greenpoint Open Studios website and we hope to see you all there!
