5 Questions With Claire Lobenfeld, Music Writer

5 Questions With is a new series spotlighting some of Brooklyn’s most exciting and influential creatives.

Whether she’s covering the very important Nicki Minaj beat for Myspace in her column The Minajerie or making some arguably strong points about “Louie” for Gawker, Claire Lobenfeld’s got the chops to back up her claims. She’s written for a wide range of publications including stints at Complex, Stereogum and The Fader, among many, many others. Lucky for you (and us!), she took the time to let us in on a few of her favorite things. Check it out after the jump.

Name: Claire Lobenfeld
Neighborhood: Williamsburg

Record you’ve listened to most in your life? A tie between Lil’ Kim’s Hard Core and Q And Not U’s Different Damage.

Brooklyn-based act to watch? He’s been around for a while, but I still think Mr. MFN eXquire is the best up-and-comer in the borough and I am anxious for him to break through.

Favorite Brooklyn Bar: Lady Jay’s (Williamsburg) for the jackalope taxidermy, Tom Waits on the jukebox, and champagne in a can when the time is right.

Go-to drink? Rosé in the summer, whiskey in the winter.
