In what is definitely not The Devil Wears Prada 2: JK, You’re Totally Going To Paris, legendary film actor Robert De Niro will play a 70-year-old widower who hates retirement and for some reason gets a job as a senior intern (what even is that?) at Anne Hathaway’s online fashion magazine. Translation: This is definitely The Devil Wears Prada 2, except way worse.
The film’s actual title is, ugh, The Intern, and it’s filming on the north side of Park Slope this week, near Berkeley Place. Written by Nancy Meyers, formerly of The Parent Trap, Something’s Gotta Give, and It’s Complicated, The Intern will add yet another feel-good comedy about conveniently wealthy and attractive white people to Meyers’ repertoire, and will also provide a totally necessary addition to the cultural fetishization of both Park Slope and interns in general.
