Barcade Opening A Fourth Location In The East Village
In case you missed it, Williamsburg’s Barcade is a (super awesome) chain. Yup, they’ve got locations in New Jersey, Philly and two coming to Manhattan. One is set to open in Chelsea and now we know a second Manhattan location is coming to the East Village.
Yesterday, Gothamist reported that owner Paul Kermizian has leased a space at 6 St. Marks Place near 3rd Avenue. That puts it a hop-and-a-skip from the Astor Pl. 6 train and the NYU/8th Street N/R trains.
The new Barcade will take over a space formerly occupied by Mondo Kim’s, a video rental store, and feature the arcade games and cold craft beer we’ve come to know and love.
There’s no date as to when the East Village location will open, but Kermizian et al. are scheduled to appear before Community Board 3 next month to get their liquor license approved. Until then, East Villagers have this to look forward to:
Isn't beer better while playing a classic game? You betcha!!! #barcade
