We know a lot of reBar couples are still reeling following the DUMBO bar’s sudden closure, but may we suggest they check out Brooklyn Botanic Garden for their nuptials? The park is about to get a major, wedding-friendly upgrade.
According to Grub Street, Brooklyn chef Rob Newton, of Nightingale 9 fame, has officially signed on to oversee the reopening of the Garden’s café and catering program. Newton will work closely with Patina Restaurant Group, the company behind two Brasseries and three Cucina & Co. locations, to bring visitors a (Brooklyn buzzword alert!) “seasonally driven and locally sourced” menu year-round.
In conclusion, we’re getting great local food from a great local chef served locally? Music to our ears.
