Leave Sir Patrick Stewart alone!
As some of you may know, last week, Sir Patrick Stewart spoke to his friends over at New York magazine and mentioned that as a newly-minted resident of Park Slope, he could do without all the baby strollers in his hood. “I’m actually beginning a campaign about banning strollers,” he joked in an interview with the magazine’s Intelligencer.
Accordingly, a “clever” Park Slope couple decided to stick it to the Brit and are raising money to buy him a stroller.
The news comes via the Daily News, which recently spotlighted Katie Goodman and Soren Kisiel, a local couple who find the trolling of British-American treasures very funny. So funny, in fact, that the duo decided last week to kick off an Indie GoGo campaign to “Buy Sir Patrick Stewart A Baby Stroller.” According to the campaign description, they hope to “purchase a quality baby-stroller for Sir Patrick…” in the hopes that it will make him “feel at home in his own neighborhood.”
Upon hearing about the whole affair, Mr. Stewart was about as impressed with it as we were:
A certain campaign has been brought to my attention. I do NOT want a f#$king stroller. But charity is cool… https://t.co/R9126Rw65C

So far, the couple has raised $221 of the $1,360 they need to purchase a top-of-the-line buggy and have until June 30 to raise the remaining $1,139. In the very likely case that they don’t reach their goal, all proceeds will be donated to a Brooklyn non-profit for families in need.
On a totally separate note, why not watch this great parody video about this summer’s MTA service changes that we shared yesterday? We promise that it’ll actually make you laugh.
