Texas Monthly Is Bringing A BBQ Pop-Up To Brooklyn

Brooklyn may know good barbecue, but you’d be hardpressed to find a group of people more passionate about the stuff than the staff at Texas Monthly. I mean, there haven’t been entire issues of Brooklyn Magazine committed to BBQ as far as I can tell. Texas Monthly can’t say the same.
Well, lucky for us, the barbecue evangelists at TM are looking to spread the love. Yesterday, the folks behind the magazine’s BBQ website announced that they’re bringing a Texas-style BBQ pop-up shop to Brooklyn.
Starting at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday, March 27, BBQ addicts are invited to enjoy BBQ straight from famous Texas restaurants at the recently-opened Hill Country Barbecue Market (345 Adams St. nr. Willoughby St.).
The evening will feature “pepper crusted brisket and behemoth beef ribs” from Louie Mueller Barbecue (Taylor, TX), “the best pork ribs in Texas” from Stanley’s Famous Pit Barbecue (Tyler, TX) and “famous smoked turkey and smoked sausage” from Blacks’ BBQ (Lockhart, TX), one of the state’s oldest BBQ joints.
Tickets to the event, which are still available for some reason, will set you back $125 and includes all the BBQ you can eat and beers straight from the Lone Star state.
