Brooklyn Gets A Second Booze Delivery App, The “Seamless for Alcohol”

We were all rightfully pretty excited last month when news started circulating about Minibar, an app that’ll deliver booze straight to your New York apartment. Like any good business model, though, someone else has thought of the exact same thing, and we now also have Drizly, which has one crucial advantage: unlike Minibar, which is wine and liquor-focused, Drizly will be delivering beer (they don’t just yet, but the service is a few weeks away).
The app has been around for a while in Boston and lower Manhattan, and expanded last week into Williamsburg, Fort Greene, Brooklyn Heights, Dumbo, Park Slope and Boerum Hill along with its promise to deliver your order within the hour (they pride themselves on speedy delivery times, and are also apparently the one app of this kind of the State Liquor Authority’s explicit blessing). The Daily News has gone so far as to call it “like Seamless for alcohol,” which sounds about right. New users can use the code WELCOMENY for a $10 discount on their first orders, so, just what we were hoping for on an irrationally cold Spring Monday: yet another reason to never leave the house.
