“Dumb” Starbucks Is Coming To Brooklyn
As some of you may or may not have heard, a new Starbucks opened in L.A. last week. So what? Well, this Starbuck was different for two reasons: (1) It wasn’t officially affiliated with the Starbucks chain and (2) every offering in the café was preceded by the word “dumb” (i.e. dumb iced latte, dumb vanilla frappucino). Accordingly, there was an hour-long wait to visit the “new” Starbucks this weekend.
As it turns out, the whole thing was a publicity stunt conceived by Nathan Fielder, the eponymous host of Comedy Central’s Nathan For You. While most people are scratching their heads right now and wondering who the hell Nathan Fielder is, the younger crowd may remember that last summer he became Internet famous for a series of Twitter pranks wherein the comedian would give his followers a dare. His biggest prank to date was this one:
Experiment: text the person ur dating "I haven't been fully honest with you" then dont reply to them for 1 hr (& tweet pic of thr response)

The dare really delivered and news of it got picked up by big names like Buzzfeed and Mashable. So, Fielder is no stranger to large scale comedy.
Now, Eater is reporting that the comedian’s next Dumb Starbucks outpost will open in Brooklyn in the next few weeks. Once we know exactly where it is, we’ll relay the information so you can either visit it or completely avoid it before it gets shutdown by the Department of Health.
