Beloved Brunch Spot Egg Is Moving

On the same day we learn that Peels is shutting its doors, some startling (but ultimately) positive news about Williamsburg brunch mainstay Egg: the restaurant will be leaving its longtime location on North 5th to move into the space on North 3rd formerly inhabited by owner George Weld’s other restaurant, Parish Hall, which will be closing down for good.
The new location will be run by Parish Hall chef Evan Hanczor, and, as Eater points out, will have more seating than the original, and hopefully shorter wait times. Egg will stay open in its current location until renovations at the Parish Hall space are complete, and as for Parish Hall, Friday will be its last day. No word yet on what’ll be going into the old North 5th space, but if you’re particularly loyal to it (as opposed to say, the actual food), get in there while you can.
