Beloved Vegan Eatery Foodswings Is Closing Soon

Terrible news for vegans, or anyone who appreciations a truly superlative basket of french fries: longtime Williamsburg staple Foodswings will soon be closing up shop, Eater reports. Naturally, their landlords have tripled their rent.

“It’s Williamsburg, and that’s what happens here now,” a manager told Brooklyn Paper. “The neighborhood has changed immensely and we are just the latest ones to go.” The restaurant may close by the end of December but owners are negotiating for more time, and posted on the company’s Facebook, “We are trying to stay, and it could be one month, or three months or six…Come in now and often. We could really use the support right now.” They’re also looking into options for a different location or a possible food truck. In the meantime, if you haven’t had one of their milkshakes or a buffalo chik’n wing, now’s the time to start. They’re wonderful, and they deserve to stay put.
