10 Brooklyn Neighborhood Restaurants and Bars Where You Ought to Become a Regular
Bocca Lupo
This Cobble Hill Italian spot first caught my attention in Glamour editor-in-chief Cinde Leive’s Grub Street Diet column. In it, she described the restaurant’s siren call by saying that she and her husband , “went to Bocca Lupo, a small Italian place that’s literally right across the street from us. It’s dangerous because sometimes my husband will be taking the trash out and then he’ll come back a few hours later because he sat at the bar and had some drinks with the owner. They have amazing sizzling garlic shrimp that I love, and zucchini tagliatelle, which has nothing to do with actual pasta.” How perfect is that? Basically this is exactly what you want in a neighborhood spot—someplace you can just pop in and eat and drink to your heart’s content. Beyond the sizzling shrimp and zucchini “tagliatelle,” I also heartily endorse the P.L.T. (P is for pancetta) panini, which is the perfect lunchtime meal.
