Nicole and Kim Carosella of Sorellina: Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves
“Sorellina” means little sister in Italian, and in the case of jewelry design duo Nicole and Kim Carosella, the affectionate nickname could apply to either one of them. “I’m the younger one,” Kim says, “but Nicole is smaller than me, so it works both ways.” Much in the same manner that the name of their company has a personal narrative behind it, each piece in their two-year-old jewelry line has its own story to tell. Whether it’s the Otto collection, which evokes the shapes of honey-combs and was inspired by Nicole’s love of the number 8, or the Hail Storm collection, which was created after Nicole saw a patch of icy snow following a winter storm, each piece is more special because of the tale it tells.
