May is National Bike Month, because every thing needs a month. (Last month was poetry month! WHAT WILL JUNE BE?) With Bike Share coming to Brownstone Brooklyn to the consternation of some locals, bicycling in the city continues to be a loaded political act. And a totally Brooklyn one at that. Bicycles are a key signifier of the New Gentrified Hipster Brooklyn, and the trendiest enclaves have a bumper crop of well-visited shops. But what about the rest of Brooklyn? Where to get a tune-up when you’re not in Williamsburg, Bushwick or Park Slope?
