The Wealth of New York’s Mayoral Candidates, Ranked
Joe Lhota
2012 Income: Around $2 Million
He may be significantly less wealthy than his Republican competitor Catsimatidis, but the former MTA chairman is still doing much better than every other candidate in the race, thanks in large part to his work in the private sector. About $1.4 million of his income last year was deferred pay from a former position at Madison Square Garden, with another $295,000 coming from his work at the MTA. Not too bad.
