The 5 Littlest Cemeteries in Brooklyn
Researching the prettiest churches in Brooklyn yesterday got me to thinking about how many of them have adjoining boneyards, and then about the other little burial grounds scattered over the borough. Sure, the majority of the dead in Brooklyn can be found in Green-Wood, Washington, Holy Cross and Evergreen (and also that secret Quaker Cemetery in Prospect Park!), but there are other little spots where people who died—many of them Dutch, many of them a long long time ago—were interred. Here’s a bunch of them. [photo]
