Brooklyn Brewery Celebrates 25th Anniversary With Jacked Up Brooklyn Lager… and Beach Fossils

If you’ve somehow found a way to keep your Brooklyn-based business going strong for 25 years, you are without question allowed to indulge in a year long celebration of the occasion. Brooklyn Brewery is kicking of such a celebration tonight, with the first in a series of release parties for the Silver Anniversary Lager.
The beer, an awesomely jacked-up, 9% ABV double bock version of their flagship Brooklyn Lager, is available in the ever-fancy 750ml bottle format, and will be released with four separate labels throughout the year, each of them designed by a different artist. The first, which is on shelves now (and photographed above, in my living room), features artwork by Fred Tomaselli (who designed more than one of the album covers you blurred out in the background). A new label will be released every quarter, with a party to go along with it.
About those parties: The first one is taking place tonight at Brooklyn Bowl, and will feature live music courtesy of Brooklyn bands Beach Fossils, The Denzels and Shark?, plus the Silver Anniversary Lager on draft, $4 pours of the regular Brooklyn Lager, and Bone Marrow & Oxtail Marmalade Sliders from Blue Ribbon. It’s free if you RSVP’d (the list is now closed), and a mere $5 at the door. Get there early, though, as it’s first-come, first-served.
