The Safest Places to Walk in Brooklyn

More pedestrians were killed in Brooklyn between 2009 and 2011 than anywhere else in the city, Gothamist reports—132 people, more than Queens’ 125 and well ahead of Manhattan’s 93, the Bronx’s 80 and Staten Island’s 21. The fatalities are more or less evenly distributed, though there’s a denser cluster toward the southwest in areas like Borough Park, Midwood and Gravesend. But there are also some swaths of Brooklyn where there were noticeably no pedestrians were killed, making them the safest places to walk in Brooklyn. At least for the time being.
