What Brooklyn Neighborhoods Have the Most STDs?


The rates of some sexually transmitted diseases are soaring in New York City, according to a new report from the city’s Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, CBS reports—one-third of all zip codes are in the top 20 percent for rates of HIV/AIDS, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and hepatitis B, and two non-sexually-transmitted diseases, hepatitis C and tuberculosis. (“The diseases often occur among the same populations,” CBS reports.) So we went poking around the DoH’s website for reports to find out what areas in Brooklyn have the most STDs.
