Williamsburg Couple Announces Break-Up Via Music Video
- No, don’t worry! This is not the couple that broke up. I repeat: this is NOT the couple that broke up.
I guess that this is the logical next step in Brooklyn coupledom, making videos to announce your break up. I mean, that’s assuming that there is anything logical about coupledom to begin with, which, I don’t know. Sure there is?
Anyway. The Daily News reports that when Brooklyn couple Jonathan Mann and Ivory King, “a musically-inclined Brooklyn couple decided to call it quits, they created a breakup video to share the news with friends.” You know, as one does. The couple broke up because they disagreed on when to have children. Which goes to show that children do, in fact, ruin everything, even the most exalted of love stories.
Apparently, “the lyrics of ‘We’ve Got To Break Up’ reflect the Williamsburg couple’s baby-centric downfall and reassure friends they won’t have to pick sides.” I’m sure their friends were all super worried about which side they ought to pick. I feel like, were I their friend, I might use this opportunity to just slowly back away from the whole situation. Probably not even that slowly. I would actually back away pretty damn quickly. I might even trip. It would still be worth it.
