Chuck Schumer Is A Total Yenta, It Turns Out

In case you missed it over the weekend, the the New York Times brought the world news of Senator Charles Schumer’s apparently insatiable appetite for setting up his staffers.
And what could have been an unsettling story about a boss perving on young employees is actually just unexpected and heartwarming!
Reportedly, there have already been 10 “Schumer Marriages” during his time in the Senate, with two more currently in the pipeline. Plus, Schumer, who “grinned and giggled” his way through his interview with the Times, is a “fabulous wedding guest,” staying into the wee hours and steering the DJ towards classics like “It’s Raining Men,” a song he is said to like for its positive message.
“Our staff is a family,” Schumer explained. “I want them to be happy […] So I encourage them.”
Then the Senator dropped some real truth:
“There are two tests in life, more important than any other test,” he said, his voice growing soft as the sun set behind him. “On Monday morning, when you wake up, do you feel in the pit of your stomach you can’t wait to go to work? And when you’re ready to go home Friday afternoon, do you say, ‘I can’t wait to go home’? ”
“If you can say yes to both those tests,” Mr. Schumer said, “God has been good to you, don’t complain.”
Aww, Chuck! I never thought I’d get so misty-eyed over the idea of politicians finding love.
