If you were to ask me about my childhood, I would fit the bill of most children raised in the nineties: nerf gun wars, playing MASH, eating far too many Bagel Bites, freaking ourselves out with Furbies, all but one minor detail: Alaska. Sometimes a place becomes noteworthy because of their top-rated cocktails, Zagat scoring tasting menus or perfectly curated live shows. It's Brooklyn–there are no shortage of these types of places. Alaska bar was, to say the least, not that type of place. What made Alaska so, err, "vibrant," were the people who chose to spend their time within it's doors, a group that the term "regular" doesn't even seem to define.
