If you're thinking about breaking up with your boyfriend/girlfriend/whatever, now is probably the best time of year to do it. It's early enough before the holiday season to avoid the guilt associated with breaking someone's heart at what is already a potentially depressing time of year. And you have enough time to find someone new before the weather turns cold and dreary and you never want to go out, you just want to stay in bed and smugly enjoy the unlimited, always-amazing sex that everyone in a relationship inevitably has. I think that's how relationship sex works?
But so anyway, this list is sort of the counter to the more usual suspect of "best places for a first date" or "best places to meet people." Not that there's anything wrong with those lists! But the thing with meeting people, or going on first dates with them, is that, eventually, probably, you'll just have to break their hearts. And you don't want to go to the same place you went on your first date. Especially if that place was "the woods by the cemetery in Prospect Park" because, trust me, you don't want to be in a quiet wooded area with someone when you're breaking up with them. That is the polar opposite of a wise idea. Here's a list of some carefully chosen places where you should break up with people, to best minimize the devastation and the tears, the inevitable tears.
