There Will Be A Very Secret Arcade Fire Album Release Show In Brooklyn Next Week
With the release of their fifth studio album, Everything Now, next week will be a big one for Arcade Fire. The rock gang from Canada has released a handful of singles already to build excitement for the new album release, and they’re very good—”Creature Comfort” in particular is one of my favorite songs of the year.
With the album’s release next Friday, the band will perform a small, intimate album release show right here in Brooklyn next Thursday—the venue, as they announced today, is Grand Prospect Hall, which should be pretty darn cool. You can try your best to get tickets by applying right here, but with an ‘intimate’ show, a smaller-than-usual venue, and a gigantic fanbase for the rock troupe from Canada, you have to figure the chances of success are fairly low.
Which is why its great that Apple Music will be livestreaming the whole thing—again, next Thursday at 8:30—for your convenience. Arcade Fire is rare case in our musical landscape—they’re one of the biggest bands in the world, but also one of the best. We can’t wait for their album release, and like everyone else, crossing fingers at the hopes of getting into this small release show.
Everything Now is out 7/28 on Columbia Records; listen to “Creature Comfort” below:
