Check Out The First Video From Alan Vega’s Posthumous Album
If you thought you had seen the last of electronic music pioneer and one half of Suicide Alan Vega when he passed away last summer at the age of 78, you thought wrong. Today, we’re happy to share the official video for “DTM,” the first single off of the singer’s poshumous album, IT, which will be released this Friday.
The video features a ton of unreleased footage from through the 1970s and 1980s, provided by Ric Ocasek of The Cars. The video contains footage from performances at the Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles and Limelight in New York City; its clear from watching just how intense Vega’s performances always were, and the limits that he would always push himself to are nothing but commendable and remarkable for his durability and commitment to his performances.
Vega’s first posthumous release will be this Friday on FADER Label, with the album being released digitally across your standard music platforms, and available through Amazon as a Double LP on Vinyl, including unpublished drawings, writings, and photos by Vega.
