Lagunitas Brewing Co. Is Bringing a Beer Circus To Coney Island!

The wonder of Summer may be officially over, but the circus is coming to Brooklyn’s most magical place—Coney Island—and not just any circus, friends, but a Beer Circus!  Lagunitas Brewing Company is bringing their menagerie of thrills to the People’s Playground on October 1st, as part of their journey to four U.S. cities, each benefitting a local nonprofit. Part beer fest, part full-on circus (of the 21+ over variety), all swirled together with musical craziness from the likes of Big Freedia, Mini Kiss and more.

The Beer Circus’ big top, midway and multiple stages will go up at the MCU Stadium Lot. It’ll be jam packed with freaktacular entertainment, including 100+ circus and burlesque acts, carnival rides, and, of course, BEER: featuring Lagunitas IPA, PILS, Pale, Maximus, Stoopid Wit, 12th of Never and more. Guest breweries are bringing more beer to the party, including Greenport Harbor Brewing, Coney Island Brewing and Industrial Arts, while tasty treats galore will be provided by food trucks from Coney Shack, Burger Warrior, Andy’s Italian Ice and other local favorites. And of course, live music from Wet Secrets, Mini Kiss, PitchBlak Brass Band, and MC/Accordion/Drummer ala Mike Gaines of Jazz Mafia, to name a few!

Profits from beer sales benefit Alliance for Coney Island, Inc.. Formed in 2012, they’re “dedicated to continuing the transformation of Coney Island into a year-round, world-class recreational destination by the sea.” Coney Island is not just an amusement park, but a neighborhood and vibrant community with a rich and fascinating history. Proceeds from the circus will benefit the Alliance and the home it shares with over 50,000 residents. That’s a big Sumpin’ Sumpin’!
