When it comes to indulging fantasies that stars are “just like us,” social media is second only to The Late Late Show With James Corden segment Carpool Karaoke. While social media is great for teens and people in a younger age bracket, it’s carpool karaoke that allows older stars and those who are more aloof a chance to act natural–whatever that means. The most recent Carpool Karaoke is with First Lady Michelle Obama, someone who–perhaps because of her many responsibilities, accomplishments, and impeccable wardrobe–I rarely picture just hanging out listening to music.

The video runs just over 14 minutes and features the First Lady and Corden singing a few songs, all of which Michelle seems to greatly enjoy. She explains that she rarely gets to ride in the passenger seat and jam anymore, and that being on the show is a real treat. When they’re done dancing in their seats to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” Michelle proclaims that she thinks she knows “every Stevie Wonder song on the planet.” Next, the two tackle Beyonce’s “Single Ladies,” mimicking Beyonce’s hand movements and dances from the infamous music video, and it’s clear that Michelle is truly a member of the Beyhive. “We were making honey to put in our lemonade,” she laughs after the song.
But the peak of the video is when, while listening to the “This Is For My Girls” single that Michelle Obama released this March, Missy Elliott pops up to rap along to her own verse. They continue on the Missy Elliott tip by playing a throwback–her 2001 hit “Get Ur Freak On.” At one point, Elliott has to stop, clearly overwhelmed by watching the First Lady of the United States singing every single word to her song. Watch it all unfold below.
