Breaking: Shanna Pacifico Is Part of An Extra Fancy Expansion
Brand new intel concerning the Shanna Pacifico saga. The former Back Forty chef — who headed to Brooklyn to open the Brazilian-influenced Pacifico’s Fine Foods (which eventually converted to an Italian trattoria), before rebounding with Cozinha Latina (which recently reverted back into a sports bar) is now involved in a major shakeup of our favorite Williamsburg seafood spot, Extra Fancy.
Together with Cozinha partner Josh Cohen (the prolific restaurateur behind Anella, Jimmy’s Diner, Saint Vitus and Lilia), as well as existing Extra Fancy owner, Mark Rancourt, she’ll oversee culinary operations for the cocktail destination and eatery, as well as its upcoming, 2000-square foot outdoor expansion, slated to debut this spring. To compliment a few of the Eastern seaboard favorites the restaurant has become known for, Pacifico will flesh out a menu of casual, bar-friendly food and seasonally-driven specials, as well as a diverse selection of small bites in the alfresco area.
And while we can never have too much Pacifico, it’s all rather bittersweet, as it makes a free agent of our favorite bread baking, oyster kimchi-making 30 Under 30 — superstar shellfish chef, Sean Telo.
Blast and damnation, Brooklyn! Is it too much to have our bobo de camarao, and eat our bangs island mussels too?
