A Cheetos-Flavored Macaron Is Coming to Park Slope
Macarons—not to be confused with their cousin the macaroon, a coconut-based confection—are glorious little sandwiches of buttercream or ganache filling pressed between two meringue disks. They’re like a dainty and more sophisticated cupcake, think Reese Witherspoon versus Tara Reid. And for the next six months, Macaron Parlour, a NYC-based shop, will be enriching our palates by serving these vibrant confections at their seasonal pop-up shop at 808B Union Street just off Seventh Avenue.
While staying true to traditional macaron flavors like Strawberry and Tiramisu, the patisserie also offers savory and unconventional options, like a Cheetos-infused white chocolate ganache that comes with coat of cheese dust on the cookie, for those of you who enjoy that layer of chip dust on your fingertips.
In addition to the pastry to which they owe their name, the shop also serves a variety of other treats like raspberry croissants, kouign amanns, and Harney & Sons tea. But we all know that you’ll be there for their Cheeto macaron, and we don’t blame you. We’ll try to save you some.
