After a day of listening to experts expound on highly consequential food topics, such as the fate of print publications, the necessity of brick-and-mortar businesses, and the importance of sustainable sourcing, how about watching a Queens-based rapper tour the city, on a quest for killer baklava and stoner-friendly chicken sandwiches?
As part of MUNCHIES ongoing film series, featuring Action Bronson (i.e., “Mr. Wonderful”) and his motley crew of associates (i.e., Big Body Bes) eating their way through New York, Taste Talks will debut a never-before-seen extended edition of their very newest video, “Fuck, That’s Delicious.” Join Bronson on a magical, mythical, expletive-ridden culinary expedition through his beloved hometown, as he stops at some of his favorite local joints, tries his hand at folding phyllo and flipping pizzas, and, you know, basically just eats some seriously delicious shit.
Earlier on in the afternoon during Taste Talks, you’ll hear heavies like the New York Times’ Sam Sifton weigh in on whether or not restaurant reviews really matter. But if you’ve ever seen Action Bronson wax poetic on Michael White’s Marea, dubbing his fusilli “divine” and his octopus akin to “fucking a Taiwanese virgin,” you’ll agree that they most certainly do.
Bonus: Catch an exclusive sneak peek of MUNCHIES’ upcoming documentary on chef Danny Bowien, and hear from the filmmakers who have been documenting his transition from underground chef to international superstar for over a year!
Taste Talks Food & Drink returns to Brooklyn September 12-14, 2014. See the full schedule and buy tickets here.
