Brooklyn’s 10 Best BBQ Spots (And What to Eat at Each)

Brooklyn's Best BBQ

Memorial Day marked the unofficial start of BBQ season, but most of us outdoor space-deprived Brooklynites have a better working acquaintance with hibachis and George Formans than wood-burning smokers or Weber grills. No matter; with a steady proliferation of true ‘cue destinations popping up all over the borough, the only struggle lies in choosing between them all. That’s why we’re honing in on each spot’s singular strengths, outlining where to go in order to satisfy a hankering for either pork or beef ribs, and who’s currently dishing out the most exemplary brisket in town.

  1. Great list, just to clarify according to Franklin’s BBQ John never cooked a day in his life there. They do admit he worked there though.

  2. Seems like this article was a bit more about publicizing the diff BBQ joints versus anything else since there were no repeat winners in any category. The beef rib @ Hometown is superior to the one @ Smoke Joint. I’ve been to both multiple times & can attest.

  3. I can’t tell when this article was written but I’m shocked it doesn’t include what I consider to be the best BBQ restaurant: Beast of Bourbon. The omission of Beast of Bourbon on ANY “Best BBQ Restaurant” list (including those in Manhattan) is, in my opinion, an egregious error! And it has awesome live music, plenty of room to dance, and a mind-boggling bourbon list!
